Abusua Kuruwa
In this installation each piece tells the story of a person in motion, juggling the weight and grace of different identities, teacher, father, and husband, all carried within a single frame. These dual faces reflect not only the constant shifting between roles but also the balancing act of integrating into a new culture while preserving the essence of who I am as a Ghanaian. The ironing board becomes a subtle metaphor here, a place of smoothing, straightening, of daily return, and ritual. It’s where I confront these folds and creases, trying to unify each part of me, bringing order without erasing the nuances of each role. It speaks of resilience, adaptability, and the work of becoming!
